Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 16th July 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit https://www.mg-music.net (the "Site"), browse our composer portfolio, or purchase our licensed virtual instruments.

"MG Music" is the trading name of Mike Georgiades, operating as a Sole Trader in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), we are the Data Controller for the specific data we collect.

1. Merchant of Record & Data Processing
Our checkout and order process is entirely conducted by our online reseller, Paddle.com.

Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all orders placed on our Site. Paddle handles all transactions, payment processing, tax compliance, initial customer service inquiries, and returns. During checkout, Paddle collects your personal data (name, billing address, email address, and payment details). Payment details are processed securely by Paddle and never pass through or touch our web servers.

You can read Paddle’s Privacy Policy directly on their website to understand how they safeguard your financial details.

2. Fulfillment via Native Instruments (Native Access)
Our virtual instruments are officially licensed for the Native Instruments ecosystem. To deliver, unlock, and manage your software license, we use Native Instruments’ system architecture.

When you make a purchase, Paddle safely shares your Name, Email Address, and Order Details with us. We use this data to generate a software product serial number for you.

To activate and download your instrument, you must register this serial number within your Native Access application, which connects directly to your personal Native Instruments account. By registering the serial key, your email and product ownership details are processed by Native Instruments GmbH to tie the software license permanently to your user account.

We process this data under the legal bases of Contractual Necessity (to deliver your software license) and Legitimate Interest (to verify library ownership and provide software updates).

> ⚠️ Important Note on Data Deletion: Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to request that we permanently delete your personal data from our systems. However, please note that if we delete our record of your email and purchases, we will lose all ability to verify your software ownership. We will be completely unable to verify your serial numbers, issue replacement product keys, recover lost accounts, or provide future product updates.

3. Third-Party Service Providers
Aside from Paddle and Native Instruments, we only share or store your data with trusted third parties necessary to manage our business operations, including:
* Email Marketing Providers: If you explicitly opt-in to marketing, your email is stored securely with our newsletter platform.
* Administrative & Infrastructure Providers: Our web host, backup servers, and professional communication tools where administrative customer data is securely processed.

4. Marketing Communications
If you explicitly opt-in during the checkout process or via a signup form on our Site, we will use your email address to send you updates about new MG Music product releases, sample library sales, or portfolio updates.

You can completely opt-out of these emails at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any email we send, or by contacting us directly at mike@mg-music.net.

5. Cookies & Site Analytics
When you browse our portfolio or shop, our Site automatically collects certain non-personal information using cookies. This includes basic details about your device, web browser, IP address, time zone, and how you interact with our pages.

We use these cookies to ensure our cart functions smoothly and to analyze traffic (such as through Google Analytics) to improve the user experience. You can choose to disable cookies through your web browser settings, though doing so might disrupt the checkout layout.

6. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
If you are a resident of the UK or the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights regarding your personal information:
* The right to access the data we hold about you.
* The right to have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
* The right to request the restriction or absolute deletion of your personal data (subject to the support warning outlined in Section 2).

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us directly at mike@mg-music.net. We aim to respond to all valid requests within 30 days.
